Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2010 by Government of India – Dates and Application Forms

Booking and Selection Process for the annual Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2010 organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, from end of May last week to September 2010 has started. The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra is open to all Indian citizens above 18 years of age who wish to proceed to Kailash Manasarovar in China for religious purposes. The last date of receiving applications is Friday, March 16, 2010. Facility of online application generation is also available till March 9, 2010. The application forms and other details are available online at the Ministry of External Affairs website.

You can download the online form here at the official website of Passport office of India. The form must be filled online and a print taken out.

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra in Hinduism

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra conducted by the Government of India includes visit to Mount Kailash – the abode of Lord Shiva – and Manasarovar Lake. According to Hindu scriptures, those who take a dip in the Manasarovar and complete the parikrama (circumambulate) around Mount Kailash are absolved of their sins and are liberated from the cycle of birth and death. They are ultimately united with Brahman (symbolically represented by Mount Kailash or Shiva).

The Selection Process for Yatra

The selection of Yatris will be done by Ministry of External Affairs of India through a computer-generated random gender-balanced selection process. Selected persons will be informed by speed post about their inclusion in a particular batch 3-4 weeks before their scheduled departure. Spouses will be automatically selected (provided this fact is clearly indicated in the relevant column of the application form) subject to clearing the medical test. Selected applicants will be required to confirm their participation in a particular batch by sending a non-refundable demand draft of Rs. 5,000/- in favor of KMVN to Ministry of External Affairs by a specific deadline.

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2010 Dates

In 2010 it is planned to send sixteen batches each consisting of a maximum of 60 pilgrims. The first batch is expected to depart from New Delhi in the last week of May 2010. The Yatra is expected to continue till the end of September 2010. The last batch is expected to depart in end of August/beginning of September 2010.

The Essentials for Kailash Manasarovar Yatra

Applicants should ensure that they possess an ordinary Indian passport valid for more than six months on September 1, 2010.

All Yatris need to undergo a comprehensive medical examination and there selection will only take place after a positive medical report. Applicants should not suffer from conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, epilepsy, etc.

Total Cost of the Yatra

Rs. 24,500/- (inclusive of Service Tax) to be paid to Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) out of which Rs 5,000/- is a non-refundable deposit

Rs. 2,150/- to be paid to Delhi Heart and Lung Institute to covercosts of medical examination / tests at Delhi. Additional amount if further medicals tests are needed.

US$ 700/- to be paid to the Chinese side.

Expenditure on adequate equipment, clothing, food stores, porters, baggage, ponies and other items required for the Yatra.

A High Risk Journey

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra Yatra is extremely arduous (more so than the Vaishnodevi / Amarnath routes), involves trekking at high altitudes up to 19,500 feet, under inhospitable conditions including extreme cold and rugged terrain and may prove hazardous for those who are not physically or medically fit. The Indian Mountaineering Foundation has recognized the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra as a trekking expedition. There is a considerable element of risk to life and property.

Haj Visit vs Manasarovar Yatra !
The Finance Minister (Foolish Minister?) has announced in this year’s budget an usual amount of Rs 800 Crores as Haj Subsidies (http://indiabudget.nic.in/ub2010-11/eb/npe.pdf). A total of 960 pilgrims (60 pilgrims in 16 batches) will be on Manasarovar Yatra this year. The total cost thus incurred would be : {960 x (24500+2150)} + 960 x {700 x 45 (if US $ 1 = 45 INR)} = Rs. 5.5824 Crores ! The ‘Secular’ Sonia Congress which spends Rs 800 Crores on Haj Visit cannot spend even 1 % of that amount on Manasarovar Yatra and expects the pilgrims to bear the expenses themselves because they are Hindus. All this is happening in a Hindu Nation with a 80 Crore Hindu Population. What a farce !

I am lucky to get selected in batch no.01. Govt. have to give some funds for Yatra. Many of Hindu Pilgrims not having funds are failed to go to Kilash Yatra. I request to Govt. of India to do help the Yatris.

As Kailash Mansarovar Yatra approaches its begining, BRO seems to be waking up and taking up repair works with renewed vigour ( As per this Amar Ujala Report )

सड़क सुधारीकरण का काम शुरू
चौतुलधार में बीआरओ ने लगाया बुलडोजर
•अमर उजाला ब्यूरो
धारचूला (पिथौरागढ़)। सीमा सड़क संगठन (बीआरओ) ने धारचूला से मांगती तक 40 किलोमीटर लंबी सड़क के सुधारीकरण का काम शुरू कर दिया है। चौतुलधार में बुलडोजर से मलबा हटाने का काम चल रहा है। तीनतोला और वर्थीगाड़ में सड़क चौड़ी कर दी गई है। इस बार बारिश के सीजन में इस मार्ग को बंद होने से बचाने के लिए यह कवायद चल रही है।
धारचूला से मांगती तक की सड़क की देखरेख का काम सीमा सड़क संगठन के पास है। इस रोड पर सबसे बड़ी समस्या चौतुलधार भूस्खलन के कारण पैदा हुई है। इस समय चौतुलधार में मलबा हटाने के लिए बुलडोजर लगाया गया है। उपजिलाधिकारी नवनीत पांडे ने बताया कि यदि एक जून तक चौतुलधार में सड़क ठीक हो जाती है तो कैलास यात्रियों को पैदल सफर के संकट से मुक्ति मिल जाएगी। इस माह के अंत तक सड़क की पूरी रिपोर्ट प्रशासन मंगा लेगा।
साथ ही उपजिलाधिकारी भी अगले सप्ताह चौतुलधार में सड़क की स्थिति का जायजा लेने जाने वाले हैं।
इधर, व्यापार संघ अध्यक्ष भूपेंद्र थापा ने उपजिलाधिकारी को ज्ञापन देकर चौतुलधार में सिर्फ मलबा हटाने के बजाए नदी की ओर से पक्की दीवार लगाने की मांग की है। उन्होंने कहा है कि बारिश के समय इस स्थान पर सड़क धंसने का खतरा बना रहेगा। ऐसे में कोई भी यात्री दल फंस सकता है।
पैदल यात्रा नहीं करनी पड़ेगी यात्रियों को
धारचूला। चौतुलधार में छह फरवरी 2009 को भूस्खलन हुआ था। इस समय वहां पर अस्थायी रूप से वाहनों के संचालन की व्यवस्था की गई है। प्रशासन की ओर से बार-बार दबाव पड़ने के कारण अब सीमा सड़क संगठन ने सारा ध्यान चौतुलधार पर केंद्रित कर रखा है। यदि इस बार सड़क की स्थिति सही हो जाती है तो यात्रियों को चौतुलधार से तवाघाट तक आठ किलोमीटर की पैदल यात्रा नहीं करनी पड़ेगी। वर्ष 2009 में कैलास यात्रियों को चौतुलधार से तवाघाट तक पैदल जाना पड़ा था

कैलास यात्रियों को चीन में खुद बनाना होगा भोजन

जागरण कार्यालय, पिथौरागढ़: कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रियों को इस वर्ष चीन में अपनी पसंद का भोजन खुद बनाना होगा। भारतीय विदेश मंत्रालय ने इस वर्ष यात्रा के दौरान तिब्बत में कुक साथ ले जाने पर रोक लगा दी है।

कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा के दौरान भारतीय व्यापारी दो सप्ताह तिब्बत में यात्रा करते हैं। इस दौरान यात्रियों के तिब्बत में रहने, खाने-पीने आदि की व्यवस्था चीन सरकार करती है। इसके लिए यात्रियों से शुल्क लिया जाता है। तिब्बत में जो भोजन चीन सरकार उपलब्ध कराती है उसे भारतीय यात्री पसंद नहीं करते हैं, इसी समस्या के चलते पिछले कई वर्षो से भारतीय यात्री कुमाऊं मण्डल के प्रशिक्षित कुक को अपने साथ यात्रा पर ले जाते थे, लेकिन इस वर्ष भारतीय विदेश मंत्रालय ने कुकों को साथ ले जाने की अनुमति नहीं दी है।

कुमाविनि सूत्रों ने बताया कि अभी तक यात्रियों को ट्रेडर्स के रूप में तिब्बत भेजा जाता था, जिसके लिए कुकों को स्थानीय स्तर से ट्रेड पास जारी किये जाते थे। गत वर्षो में कुकों द्वारा कागजों में किसी तरह का व्यापार होना नहीं दर्शाया है। इसी के चलते इस वर्ष विदेश मंत्रालय ने इन्हें ट्रेड पास जारी करने पर रोक लगा दी है। इससे इस वर्ष भारतीय यात्री प्रशिक्षित कुकों को अपने साथ नहीं ले जा सकेंगे। यात्रियों को चीन में चीन सरकार द्वारा उपलब्ध कराया जाने वाला भोजन ग्रहण करना होगा या अपने लिए खुद ही भोजन बनाना होगा। गौरतलब है कि भारतीय क्षेत्र में यात्रियों को कुमाऊं मण्डल विकास निगम भोजन उपलब्ध कराता है

Here is Amar Ujala report on applications and process of selecting people for Kailash Yatra. It is strange to see that on 1900 people had applied for this yatra. I am sure with a little effort number os application can reach atleast 5 figures !!

29 से 31 मई तक 960 लोगों का आटीबीपी मुख्यालय दिल्ली में होगा स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण

1900 लोग कैलास दर्शन के इच्छुक
डीडीहाट (पिथौरागढ़)। कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा के लिए इस बार विदेश मंत्रालय के पास 1900 आवेदन आए हैं। इनमें से 960 लोगों का स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण के लिए चयन किया गया है। पिछले वर्षों की अपेक्षा इस साल सर्वाधिक आवेदन प्राप्त हुए हैं। 29 से 31 मई तक चयन किए गए यात्रियों का दिल्ली स्थित भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस (आईटीबीपी) के मुख्यालय में मेडिकल परीक्षण होगा।
हर साल एक जून से शुरू होने वाली इस यात्रा के लिए विदेश मंत्रालय जनवरी से आवेदन पत्र लेना शुरू कर देता है। भगवान भोलेनाथ के दर्शनों के लिए देश के लोगों की उत्सुकता साल दर साल बढ़ती जा रही है। वर्ष 2009 में विदेश मंत्रालय को मात्र 900 आवेदन पत्र प्राप्त हुए थे। बीते वर्षों में भी आवेदन पत्रों की संख्या 1200 से ज्यादा नहीं पहुंच पाई, लेकिन इस साल देश के तमाम राज्यों से सर्वाधिक 1900 लोगों ने कै लास यात्रा के लिए आवेदन जमा करवाए। इनमें से 960 लोगों का मेडिकल के लिए चयन किया गया है। सबसे ज्यादा आवेदन गुजरात से आए हैं। मेडिकल के बाद ही तय हो पाएगा कि कितने यात्री इस वर्ष कैलास यात्रा में शामिल होंगे।
विदेश मंत्रालय के यात्रा समन्वयक एमके घिल्डियाल ने नई दिल्ली से बुधवार को फोन पर बताया कि 1981 के बाद से यह पहला मौका है जब कैलास यात्रा के लिए रिकार्ड आवेदन मिले हैं।
वोल्वो बसें होंगी यात्रा का आकर्षण
नैनीताल। कुमाऊं मंडल विकास निगम की ओर से इस वर्ष कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा को और भव्य बनाने की कवायद जारी है। यात्रा में जहां काठगोदाम तक वोल्वो बसें विशेष आकर्षण होंगी वहीं कुमाऊंनी व्यंजन चुड़क्वाणी, रायता, मडुवे की रोटी और भट्ट के डुबके यात्रियों का जायका बढ़एंगे।
वर्ष 1981 में 3 दल तथा 59 यात्रियों से कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा शुरू हुई और पिछले साल 16 दलों में 607 यात्रियों ने कैलास दर्शन किए। निगम के मंडलीय प्रबंधक (पर्यटन) डीके शर्मा ने बताया कि बताया कि इस वर्ष काठगोदाम तक की यात्रा परिवहन निगम की वोल्वो बसों से तथा शेष यात्रा इनोवा से कराई जाएगी।
अब तक 10154 यात्रियों ने देखा कैलास
2009 में विदेश मंत्रालय को मिले थे मात्र नौ सौ आवेदन
इस बार सर्वाधिक आवेदन गुजरात से आए
नोएडा से शुरू होगी यात्रा
•डीडीहाट। वर्ष 1981 से 2009 तक 321 दलों में 10154 यात्री कैलास यात्रा कर चुके हैं। 2008 में चीन में ओलंपिक के चलते केवल 396 यात्रियों को ही कैलास दर्शन का सौभाग्य मिला था। तब 20 दल ही यात्रा पर भेजे गए थे। 2006 में 590, 2007 में 674 और 2009 में 599 यात्री कैलास दर्शन को पहुंचे। 2000 के बाद यात्रियों की संख्या बढ़ती गई। उससे पहले तक सौ या 150 यात्री ही कैलास यात्रा पर भेजे जाते थे।
डीडीहाट। कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा इस बार दिल्ली के बजाय नोएडा से शुरू होगी। एक जून की सुबह प्रथम दल में शामिल यात्री नोएडा से प्रस्थान करेंगे और उस दिन शाम को वे अल्मोड़ में रुकेंगे। दो जून को दल पिथौरागढ़ में दोपहर भोजन के बाद आईटीबीपी मिर्थी होते हुए आधार शिविर धारचूला को प्रस्थान करेगा।

कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा-2010 की तैयारियां
इस बार भी सात्विक भोजन मिलेगा यात्रियों को
पिथौरागढ़। कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रियों के लिए इस बार भी हर पड़ाव में भोजन सात्विक ढंग से तैयार किया जाएगा। यात्रियों को अनिवार्य रूप से भोजन के बाद मिष्ठान्न मिलेगा और विभिन्न प्रकार के जूस भी अलग-अलग पड़ावों पर रखे जाएंगे।
कैलास यात्री इस बार भी जाते समय दोपहर भोजन पिथौरागढ़ पर्यटक आवासगृह में करेंगे। आवासगृह में उनके लिए दाल, रोटी, चावल, रायता, सलाद जैसे व्यंजन अनिवार्य रूप से बनाए जाएंगे। इसके अलावा हर यात्री को भोजन के बाद मिठाई और पान भी दिया जाएगा। आवासगृह के प्रबंधक दिनेश गुरुरानी ने बताया कि भोजन इस बार भी सात्विक ही बनेगा। उसमें लहसुन, प्याज जैसी वस्तुएं नहीं पड़ेंगी।
उधर, कुमाऊं मंडल विकास निगम के यात्राधिकारी बचीराम आर्य ने बताया कि पैदल पड़ावों में यात्री रात्रि विश्राम करेंगे। रात के भोजन की व्यवस्था भी ठीक पिछले साल की तरह ही की जा रही है।
इस बीच निगम ने यात्रा पड़ावों में राशन, तेल, सब्जी जैसी सामग्री पहुंचाने की तैयारी कर दी है। 20 मई तक सभी पड़ावों में यह सामान पहुंच जाएगा। निगम के प्रबंध निदेशक ने सामग्री ढुलान के लिए 15 दिन पूर्व ही टेंडर आमंत्रित कर दिए थे। यात्रा एक जून से शुरू होगी। तब तक सभी व्यवस्थाओं को पूरा कर लिया जाएगा।
आधार शिविर धारचूला में रहेगा
पिथौरागढ़। कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा का आधार शिविर इस बार भी धारचूला में रहेगा। आधार शिविर में यात्राधिकारी समेत करीब 20 कर्मचारी तैनात होंगे। आधार शिविर से कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा के साथ-साथ छोटा कैलास यात्रा का भी संचालन किया जाएगा। यात्राधिकारी बचीराम आर्य ने बताया कि छोटा कैलास यात्रा भी जून से शुरू हो जाएगी

  This is Dr.Manoj from Kerala.
  To achieve physical fitness I used to walk 5-6 Km/day for the past few months.Now started jogging for this distance.Trying best to charge my mind with the dream trip.Since there is no scope for getting hiking boot etc in Kerala ,Either I may have to buy all those materials either from Delhi or from Mumbai.It is heard from experts that we have to use hiking boots many days before the actual hiking trip.

We made it to the Heaven on Earth – Mount Kailash and Manasarovar Lake in the Third Batch of KM Yatra 2010. The experience is a wonderful one. Fellow Yatris, who ever is making this Yatra this year, Don’t worry. Lord Shiva will guide you all through. Keep cool all through. Treat all – human and animals – who help you enroute – will respect, compassion and understanding. We consider them as Shiva Ghanas sent by Lord Shiva himself.

Well. On the subsidy front. Some governments like Delhi, Gujarat, etc do provide subsidy.

We are from Hyderabad, AP. We do not know whether AP Government provides this subsidy to Kailash Manasarovar Yatries? If any one has some information please let us know and guide us. We know AP Government provides subsidy for Haj Pilgrims (Muslim) and Jerusalem Pilgrims (Christians.
